What’s new for My French Finds

Hi everyone, as you probably already know, My French Finds has a new owner, moi! My name is Aurélie, I’m French (as my name and terrible English accent can tell!) but I left Paris six years ago to follow my lover to the other side of the world. I ‘ve never regretted that decision, I love living on the Sunshine coast and Noosa is definitely a better place to see my baby girl growing! But I have to say that I sometimes miss Paris … I miss the atmosphere of the Parisian cafés, the French cheese, the Sunday brocantes, my family, the culture profusion and the cheap croissants. (In no particular order!)

Running that lovely business was for me a great opportunity to stay connected with my home country and because I always had a true passion for vintage pieces and furniture with a story to tell, I love the idea of bringing little bits of French History to Australia! Everything will continue to be handpicked. I travel to France regularly to visit my family and to visit brocantes, vide-greniers and auctions to look for beautiful French vintage finds for the shop.

I will also be happy to write for this blog and I will do my best to do it in a decent English so please don’t be too harsh with me! (And I promise I won’t judge your French!) I would love to share with you a few stories from my buying trips, and maybe a few tips to make the most of your trips to France!

If you are in Brisbane, My French Finds has now a little shop in the Woolloongabba antique center where you can see in person some beautiful French treasures! The shop offers different stock than the online shop, so do not hesitate to visit both regularly! I bring new pieces to the shop every Friday. At the Woolloongabba antique center you will find a lot of beautiful little treasures, but you will also find some gorgeous antique furniture from France, like farm tables, Parisian bistrot tables, chairs and much more!

This is Brisbane largest antique center so no doubt you will find something you like! It is opened seven days a week from 9am to 5 am. Come have a look!

If you are on the Sunshine coast you can also come see My French Finds at the Peregian beach market now! At the market I bring a lot of beautiful and very affordable vintage brocante pieces from France, like kitchenware, enamelware, small furnitures and much more!

The Peregian beach market is a very pleasant market with a good choice of vintage stalls but also locals artisans, yummy food and live music. The market is on every first and third Sunday of each month. Come say hello!

I hope you will enjoy all the treasures I will find for you! If you have anything in mind that you always wanted, please let me know and I will do my best to try bringing it back for you!
