: SOLD : Vintage French Enamel Sign
A wonderful rare vintage French enamel sign, circa 1900 - 1940. An old advertising piece for Raverdy Chicoree (chicory). This sign represents a part of France's history - in war times, chicory was the substitute for coffee in France. For some time after, chicory was also blended with coffee beans. Chicory is still a common beverage option in Europe today.
This particular sign has not been seen before and was found in a brocante shop in Provence.
It features beautiful cobalt blue and white enamel, made in Belgium for Raverdy France. A small amount of rust and some enamel loss at edges, but overall in very good condition for its age. It could be hung on a wall, or placed on a shelf.
Will add a lovely French feel to your kitchen or eating space!
