: SOLD : French Vintage Faisselle Dish – Digoin
A rare, large ironstone faisselle dish, manufactured by Digoin, a famous French pottery manufacturer.
Originally used for making cheese, this now would make a lovely dish for fruit or other vegetables, as a soap dish, or as a beautiful display piece alongside other stoneware.
In very good condition, no chips, some marks from ageing, but this adds to the charm of the dish. Lovely heavy ironstone with ceramic glaze.
Maker's mark stamped on base, this piece dates from between 1920 - 1940s. Found a brocante market in Lyon.
